Happy Halloween!!

(yes, I know it's almost Christmas....I'm a bit behind the times. Get used to it...I've acepted that I will never be caught up on anything.)

To have a great Halloween, first you have to find the perfect pumpkin and turn it into a Jack-o-lantern......

Then, you have to find the perfect costume.........Ethan had a little trouble with this and wasn't very fond of the Gorilla costume that I wanted him to wear.

He really admired his sister's dinosaur costume from last year, but not enough to wear it himself. We couldn't even get him to try it on, but he sure had fun chasing her around while she wore it around the house.

We were finally successful with an adorable Football Player costume......but he drew the line at wearing the helmet so we left that at home. At least he didn't put up a fight about the home-made shoulder pads I rigged up to help him fill out the jersey a little better.

Meghan was a little easier. She knew right away that she wanted to be a Princess. And not just any Princess.....she wanted to be Sleeping Beauty. No problem, right? After all, how hard could it be to find a Disney Princess costume? Turns out that it's harder than you might think. I went to every store in town looking for a PINK Sleeping Beauty dress. They had blue Cinderellas and red Snow Whites all over the place, but pink was hard to come by. It was worth all the stress though because she was totally adorable in it. As you can see by these pictures, she was quite impressed with herself the first time she tried it on.

In the afternoon, we visited Daddy at work, then went to see the Great-Grandparents at their house and Grandma at the store.

My real "Sleeping Beauty." She fell asleep in the car on the way home from all of our visits. (For the safetly-police out there, I know her harness looks crooked and too loose.....I'd already unbuckled it before deciding to snap a picture.)

The power nap did her good and she was all energized later on to hit the neighborhood with her friend Jordyn. Ethan didn't really understand what was going on, but whatever it was, he sure was excited about it. They got so much candy I ended up carrying Meghan's bag in between houses because it was too heavy for her. It was a great night.
