Goof-Ball

I just love these pictures of Meghan. We were playing "haircut girl" and put her hair up in a bunch of tiny pig-tails........

Christmas Chaos....

Here are some pics of our Christmas fun.......

Ethan and Meghan really loved helping decorate the tree. This year, Meghan was big enough to understand the idea of "fragile" and handled each ornament gently.

Ethan, on the other hand, was convinced that we had devised the whole thing just for his personal amusement and spent most of the morning shouting, "BALL!!!!" as he attempted to throw every ornament he got a hold of.
(don't be fooled by that angelic expression....he's usually up to no good!)

With a little help from Mommy, Meghan wrote a letter to Santa asking for a Dora video game for herself and a basketball goal for her little brother. Santa must not have been able to read her writing because he made a special trip down from the North Pole to see Meghan and Ethan. Ethan wasn't really impressed with the scary guy with the tickley beard......

Meghan, however, knew exactly who was knocking on our door. As soon as she saw him through the window she started dancing, jumping up and down, clapping her hands and laughing. She literally couldn't hold still. I was so excited for her. There's nothing like seeing a child who really believes to get a grinchy-grouch like me into the holiday spirit.

After talking to both kids and having a few cookies, Santa had to head back to the North Pole. But, he promised to be back on Christmas Eve with presents. After Santa left, our good friend Robert came over for dinner and Meghan told him all about how Santa had come to see her. She even had him look out the window to show him which direction Santa had left in. They looked to see if his sleigh was outside, but all they saw was Robert's car. (wink, wink!)

On Christmas Eve, Meghan woke up with a bad cough and not feeling good at all. We had Shon's Mom, Grandma & Grandpa over for presents and dinner that night. Shon's mom, Rose, ended up spending the night so she could be here to see the kids open their presents in the morning. It was a rough night for all of us. Poor Meghan's cough got worse and she had a fever. She spent most of the night in bed with us....a tight fit with me, Shon, and both kids in bed. None of us got much sleep that night.

But, somewhere around 4:00 AM we all fell asleep just long enough for Santa to come. Even though she was still sick, Meghan was up at dawn to see what was under the tree and Ethan wasn't far behind her. Meghan's favorite gift was either the pink V-Tech computer game from Grandma or the pink and white doll bed that Santa brought. It has a pink and white quilt made by Nanny Jean and pink pillows and mattress made by Grandma Rose. Ethan's favorite gift is the dump truck that Santa brought. It's noisy so he loves it.

So, that was our Christmas. I hope everyone else had as wonderful a holiday as we did.
