Would you like attitude with that?

Every Wednesday, after gymnastics class, the kids and I roll through the McDonald's drive-thru for lunch. I'm both cheap and predictable so we always get the same thing. The order rolls off my tongue without any thought.......2 drive-thru specials, no onions, both Dr. Pepper and a 6-piece Chicken Nugget. And as I rattle it off, I have this little parrot in the back seat, repeating everything I say word-for-word.
.
.
.
So, it should be no surprise that "playing McDonalds" is one of Miss Meghan's favorite games. It usually starts with,
.
.
.
"Momma, how 'bout you be the Mommy and I'll be the McDonalds Girl and I make you lunch."
.
.
.
So, I get in my pretend car and drive over to "the Drive-Thru place" (a.k.a. the couch)
.
.
.
Me: "I'll take a double cheeseburger, large fries and an apple pie."
.
.
.
Meghan: "Momma, they don't make apple pie at McDonalds!"
.
.
.
(uh oh!! I have to fill this gap in my daughter's fast food education!)
.
.
.
Me: "Okay then, I'll take a chocolate shake."
.
.
.
--silence--
.
.
.
--more silence--
.
.
.
Me: "Hello? McDonald's girl! Can you take my order please?"
.
.
.
Meghan: (brushing hair and pretending to look in a mirror) "We're busy right now! Come back later!"
.
.
.
(!!!!! This is a new addition to the script since the last time we played this game)
.
.
.
-- a few minutes pass, I assume the game is over --
.
.
.
Meghan: "Okay, I can take your order now. What you want?"
.
.
.
Me: "I'll take a cheeseburger, fries, and a chocolate shake."
.
.
.
Meghan: "We're out of chocolate shakes."
.
.
.
Me: "Okay.....ummmmm, I'll take a Dr. Pepper then."
.
.
.
Meghan: "Nope, we're out of that too!"
.
.
.
Me: "Well, what do you have to drink? Can I get some water?"
.
.
.
Meghan: "Nope, we're all out of drinks. You'll have to just get your food and then take it home and get a drink there out of the sink."
.
.
.
Me: "So, can I get my cheeseburger and fries then?"
.
.
.
Meghan: "Nope, we all out of food. You go home and make lunch in the kitchen."
.
.
.
I swear, I'm not making this stuff up. I'm really not that creative. Where does she come up with this stuff!? With an attitude like hers she's all ready for her first job. If she's like this at 3, what does 13 have in store for us?
